🔍 New YouTube Updates: Insight Sharing, Creator Partnership Hub, and More!

Hey creators! YouTube just dropped some exciting updates in their latest Creator Insider video—and if you’re in the YouTube Partner Program (YPP), this is definitely one you don’t want to miss. From enhanced monetisation opportunities to improved channel tools, let’s break it all down in plain English.

📊 New: Share Your Channel Insights with Advertisers

YouTube has rolled out a brand-new setting in YouTube Studio that allows eligible creators to share aggregated channel insights with brands, advertisers, and third-party platforms. But before you worry about privacy, let’s get into what’s actually shared and why it matters.

What Insights Are Shared?

This setting shares aggregated data only—think high-level analytics, not personal info:

  • Total subscriber count
  • Views, likes, and comments
  • Audience demographics (gender, geography, age range)
  • YouTube Shopping affiliate performance (e.g. tagged video views, number of tagged products)

Why Is This Useful?

The goal here is to make it easier for advertisers to find creators who are a perfect fit for campaigns. With more data to work with, brands can confidently approach creators they know will hit the mark for their audience.

And here’s the win for creators: more data = more visibility = more brand deals. It’s that simple.

💡 Pro Tip: This setting is OFF by default, so head to YouTube Studio > Advanced Settings to toggle it ON if you want to open the door to new opportunities.

🤝 Creator Partnership Hub is Now Live

Alongside the insights-sharing feature, YouTube has launched the Creator Partnership Hub—a searchable directory where advertisers can discover creators in the YouTube Partner Program.

Every creator in YPP is listed, but if you also enable the new insights sharing feature, brands will see a much fuller picture of what your channel offers. That gives you a leg up in getting selected for collaborations.

It’s basically like LinkedIn for creators and advertisers—only cooler.

🛍️ YouTube Shopping: Tag Smarter, Not Harder

If you’re part of the YouTube Shopping Affiliate program, there’s a fresh reminder from Team YouTube: follow the product tag rules or risk losing access.

What Makes a Product Tag Compliant?

  • It must be relevant to the video content.
  • It should be clearly visible and featured in the video.
  • Viewers should have a reasonable expectation to want more info or make a purchase.

If your tags don’t meet the bar, YouTube will remove them and notify you. Repeat offenders will face a warning system and, ultimately, removal from the affiliate program.

🧹 To help you clean things up, YouTube is launching a new content filter in Studio so you can quickly spot and fix non-compliant tags.

🏅 Loyalty Badges: Now Up to 10 Years!

This one’s for the OGs! YouTube is now letting creators upload loyalty badges for members with up to 10 years of channel membership. Previously, badges capped at the 5-year mark, but now you can honour your most long-term supporters with new 6–10 year badges.

Time to design some epic new badges for your superfans!

🔄 “Pull to Refresh” on Channel Pages

Finally, a quality-of-life update: You can now pull down to refresh your channel content across all tabs—just like refreshing your socials. No more backing out of your channel to see the latest updates. It’s a small change, but a nice one.

💬 Final Thoughts

YouTube is clearly doubling down on making the platform more transparent and brand-friendly—and that’s a big plus for creators looking to grow revenue. If you’re in the YPP and want to stand out, enable the insight sharing feature, keep your tags clean, and start prepping those 10-year badges!

We’ll be covering more of these updates each week, so stay tuned here at Creator Compass.
